CP Buddy AI Assistant Third-Party Processing and Privacy Notice
Policy version: 2026-09-03-v5 Effective date: 3 September 2026
AI Assistant is a separate, optional feature. Your question is sent to DeepSeek only after you explicitly consent. Declining or withdrawing consent does not affect any other CP Buddy feature.
1. Purpose and third-party provider
This feature is used only to answer questions about using CP Buddy. The CP Buddy website operator uses the DeepSeek API (service provider: DeepSeek) to generate answers. DeepSeek may process and store data submitted to its service in mainland China.
2. What is sent
Each request sends only: (a) the question you enter in AI Assistant; (b) relevant excerpts automatically selected from the ordinary-user guide; (c) the response language; and (d) server-validated page, stage, and functional-region names. Only when you separately allow diagnostics for that question does the backend read the saved project's structured data and locally check save, coordinate, basemap, capacity, CAD, quota, and pre-export data/evidence completeness. It sends only allow-listed, redacted status and missing-category labels. It does not send the project ID, actual coordinates or distances, form text, names, dates, filenames, paths, images, drawings, attachments, signatures, or report contents to DeepSeek. Declining diagnostics does not affect ordinary knowledge-base answers.
3. Information you must not enter
Do not enter passwords, verification codes, API keys, tokens, cookies, identity documents, real signatures, customer information, precise engineering coordinates, non-public drawings, trade secrets, or other sensitive or confidential information. Before every send, the system checks common credential, token, connection-string, personal-identifier, payment-card, network-address, precise engineering-coordinate, and embedded-file formats; high-confidence matches are blocked. You must still confirm each request that passes the check, but the system cannot guarantee detection of all sensitive content.
4. Records and retention
CP Buddy does not store the full question or answer in its local operational logs. It records only security and operational metadata such as the internal user identifier, request result, model, usage, error type, feedback, diagnostic authorization outcome, and a non-reversible project reference. Consent and withdrawal decisions are stored with the policy version, time, source IP, and browser information to prove and manage your choice. DeepSeek's handling and retention of API data are governed by its privacy policy and service terms.
5. Limitations of answers
AI answers may be inaccurate and are provided only as website usage guidance. They are not engineering, surveying, legal, or signing advice, and are not used to make decisions that have a significant effect on you.
6. Consent and withdrawal
On first use, you may choose “Agree and enable AI Assistant” or “Not now”. You may withdraw consent at any time within AI Assistant. After withdrawal, no new questions will be sent to DeepSeek. If this notice or the processing changes materially, the system will request consent again under a new policy version.
